Pet Collars
Pet collars serve many functions, from decorative to medical. In many cases pet collars are a minimalist’s version of dressing their pet. They serve as useful attachment points for tags and leashes, and can even repel pests that spread disease.
The common pet collar is a band of fabric or leather with a snap attachment. They can be colored or studded with metal for decoration. Collars are the easiest location to keep your pet’s name tag and shot information, many have a ring made especially for these tags. Collars are also the best place to attach a leash to a dog or cat because the neck is an easy place to control an animal from.
Medical pet collars, such as flea and tick collars contain a repellent that keeps them off your pet. If your pet has exposure to these pests, these collars are great for limiting their chance of becoming a host for a colony of the nasty buggers. They are not fool proof, so it’s important to check for fleas and ticks regularly as well. However they are a great tool in combating these vermin.
