Cat Supplies
Cats make great pets, and you will want to take great care of yours. But what does that take? Well there are a few simple cat supplies that will keep your kitty happy and healthy. Throw in some things to play with, maybe a scratching post and a litter box; and your cat will be purring with pleasure.
As with any animal you will want to make sure your cat has enough water to drink and food to eat. Cat food comes in two main types, wet and dry. Wet cat food is typically more expensive than dry food, but some owners swear by it. What you feed your cat is up to you, although you should check the breed and age requirements of your cat to ensure that you are giving it the things it needs.
Cats, unlike dogs, are very meticulous about their bathroom habits. They want to bury their waste and do not like getting dirty. This means it won’t work to simply let your cat outside to use the bathroom. They can be toilet trained with specific cat supply kits for that purpose. Far more common practice is to buy a litter box for your cat. The sandy kitty litter is designed to clump up around the cat’s waste so that you can scoop it out without having to replace the entire box’s worth of kitty litter.
Cats also adore a chance to scratch their claws. If you don’t want them scratching up your furniture it is best to supply them with a scratching post for this purpose. Scratching posts are just cylinders covered with carpet at their most basic. Complicated multi leveled varieties are available with hollow interiors for a cat to lounge in. Cats also love to play with small objects like string or small chew toys, sometimes these toys have a pouch for you to place catnip in, cats love this herb and will become ecstatic around it.
